Polymer Nanocomposites

The wide variety of polymers presents an enormous spectrum for manufacture of disposable, lightweight, heavy-duty and inexpensive products. Even more can be realized, however, by selective addition of nanoparticle fillers to the polymer. As simple as it sounds, major challenges must be encountered when developing these polymer nanocomposites. Here, at PTL, the in-depth knowledge on nanoparticle preparation and characterization is utilized for understanding and optimizing their manufacture as well as preparing such with properties otherwise unachievable with pure polymers.
